The Sound of Music

My grandmother, and great aunt started my love for The Sound of Music when I was a child. I still enjoy watching the quality musical as an adult.
I was very sad to receive this e-mail. May our Lord give her family strength.

Sincerely,
Lori E. Mazzola Author of Tales of the Tree People

Dear author:

We received word today that Agathe Von Trapp has died. Ms. Von Trapp was the eldest daughter of the singing Von Trapp family, and known throughout the world as "Liesl" from the movie The Sound of Music, re-aired by ABC this past weekend. She was also one of PublishAmerica's most accomplished writers, having been a PublishAmerica author for five years. She was 97.

PublishAmerica counts almost 50,000 authors. We rarely make public announcements about their private lives, but Agathe always allowed us to make an exception. In part, this was by design. She remained involved with the Von Trapp Family Lodge in Vermont and kept stacks of her autobiography for sale there. Ms. Von Trapp was a keen marketer of "Agathe von Trapp: Memories Before and After The Sound of Music", now out of print at PublishAmerica.

But she was also a woman of kindness who always treated our staff with generosity, and who wrote her memoir with great openness in order to separate fact from fiction. Clear-minded until the end, and always attentive, she took time to sketch a painting of her favorite purple flowers as they grow in the Alp meadows where her family's story began, and sent it as a gift to a PublishAmerica staff member. Agathe von Trapp chose to join PublishAmerica because she wanted to be among authors such as yourself. She will be missed.

Buckeye Bark

1 stick of butter

1 jar of creamy peanut butter

1 tsp. of vanilla

1 lb. of powdered sugar

12 oz. bag of semi-sweet chocolate chips

1 tbs. vegetable shortening

Cream butter, peanut butter and vanilla together in a mixing bowl, adding powdered sugar until mixed thoroughly. Flatten mixture over wax lined baking sheets.

Melt chocolate chips and shortening together in the top of a double boiler over low heat.

Pour chocolate mixture over peanut butter mixture, spread evenly with spatula.

Dust with powdered sugar and place in refrigerator to cool.

Buckeye Bark stores best in covered container in refrigerator.

This is my favorite recipe because it looks like Buckeye tree bark.

It’s the bark you can bite!

Buckeye Bark goes great with milk or coffee!

Sister...

When I lost my sister, I never really knew. God would send me millions, so I could fill the pews. He would show me with His mercy, He truly does care. He would Guide me through the traps, and show me all the snares. He has put me here that I may show love to you, after all that I've been through. Remember you are my sister, and I'll always care. You won't need to look. I'll always be there.

Deuteronomy 28 : 11-12 NIV

The Lord will grant you abundant prosperity-in the fruit of your womb, the young of your livestock and the crops of your ground-in the land he swore to your forefathers to give you. The Lord will open the heavens, the storehouse of his bounty, to send rain on your land in season and to bless all the work of your hands. You will lend to many nations but will borrow from none.

Our mission statement...

We believe it is important to educate children about deforestation.
Not only because it's a serious ecological problem, but because it gives children a better understanding of all the ways trees are useful.

War

Can you hear the battle cry?

Duck and dive as bullets fly...

Stinging sand burning eyes...

Leaving home to save our lives...

Imagine now, my dear friend...

We're approaching near the end...

Yet have no fear...

For I am here...

To guide you out...

Into the clear...

Listen my child, as I say...

Fold your hands, get down and pray...

This is yes the only way...

To live your life from day to day...

A Little Time...

All the blood that has been spilled...

Bodies broken against their will....

All the lives that we've lost...

How much does it really cost?

All the children left alone...

No place left to call their home.

All the parents that have cried...

Watching as their children died.

Have you nothing left inside?

Stop the hate, stop the crime.

We only have a little time...
